Children's Fellowship at the 2018 Florida Spring Advance
“ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Children's Fellowship Highlights by Carli O'Callaghan, age 9
I wanted to share a little bit about the Spring Advance we went to. It was probably about the funnest event of the year for me. One of the parts I enjoyed the most was going swimming with our group. I also really liked and enjoyed Children's Fellowship. We talked about how Jesus Christ loves us and God really loves us and chose us to be with Him instead of just being alone. He wasn't sad when He chose to love us. It was what He wanted to do. I think that is so cool! Something else I really enjoyed was when I got to play the violin. The song I played was "Skip to my Lou". If you have never been to an advance you should really consider going, and if you have been I hope to see you again next year.
Children's Fellowship Highlights by Audrey Navarro
This was my 6th year in a row coming to the Spring Advance and every year it is such a joy. Every year I get so blown away by the thought, love and hard work that is put into this event. Upon arrival, my family and I were greeted with smiling faces and lots of hugs, followed by some sweet fellowship. Saturday night we had a family fellowship where we learned about the family of God, followed by some entertainment which included skits, story telling, jokes and music. It’s always so great to be able to get away and be around people that love God for a few days, it gives me a little taste of what life will be like after the return.
This year, I had the joy of helping with Children’s Fellowship and our theme was “The Family of God.” The kids at Children’s Fellowship learned about God’s love for us. Then they learned about our love for each other and how God wants us to treat our brothers and sisters in Christ. It was so great to hear the kids pray and watch them grow in God’s word.
Sunday is always bitter sweet as it’s time to leave and go back to normal life, but I always feel refreshed and ready for the world when coming home after such an amazing weekend of love and spiritual growth.
