Children’s Fellowship Highlights by Danielle Davis, Children’s Fellowship Coordinator

“What a great time it was to serve God and His children at Children’s Fellowship on July 28, 2019. I was very thankful for the service of all the helpers too! At Children’s Fellowship we learned about prayer. Our focus was on Philippians 4:6, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Audrey began our fellowship by explaining to the children that what Philippians 4:6 is telling us – how we can go to God with our petitions; that we don’t have to be anxious or worried, and that we can be thankful to God for all He does for us. She reminded us that even on days that aren't so great, we still have so much to be thankful for. Audrey showed us that just like children go to their parents without hesitation when they need something, we can go to God and not hold anything back. She also shared a little about how she was recently healed by God and how healing is one of the things we can ask God for. Our help comes from God who made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2) – what an amazing reminder!

Later we had another teaching where we learned more about how to pray and that we can pour out our whole hearts to God. We also learned that we can go to God in the name of Jesus Christ . His name is powerful and his accomplishments allow for every born again one to have access to God for answered prayer. We looked at Acts 3 where the lame man was healed and Peter declared that it was not by his own power or holiness, but it was through believing in the accomplishments of Jesus Christ.

Among many other things we did, we made prayer list bookmarks with photographs of each child's family members. We decorated the bookmarks and laminated them so they could take them home to pray for their family.

I’m always very thankful for my time with the children, serving together, and learning God’s Word.”
