“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes...”
Children's Fellowship Highlights by Danielle Davis
"Our very first children’s fellowship was at the Davis family home on September 16th. The topic was the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It was such a wonderful time to be together in God’s Word. We got together and had a time of prayer, "devotion with motion" where the children got to sing and move around – what fun! We had manifestations and a teaching where we learned a little bit about Jesus Christ’s birth from Luke 2:1-11; when it was and some of the things that Joseph and Mary did in their commitment to raise Jesus Christ according to God’s Word. How thankful we are that he was born! We had a wonderful craft afterward which was beautifully organized by Audrey Navarro. We had sweet fellowship during lunch, a fun scavenger hunt and then watched a movie related to Jesus Christ’s birth. What a sweet time it was to be with these wonderful children. It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of something as significant as helping children grow in their love and enthusiasm for God and His Word. I’m so very excited for our next one on November 4th, 2017."
When Jesus Christ was born, his parents washed him with water and little bit of salt to symbolize that his words would be truthful and honest. Then short strips of fine linen cloths were wrapped around his body. This was to represent a commitment by Joseph and Mary to raise the child upright before the Lord.
For our craft, organized by Audrey Navarro, we made our own babies and swaddeling clothes. We used socks and string for the babies and made swaddling clothes out of felt. Then we put them in a paper bag manger and even salted them with glitter.
Children's Fellowship Highlights by Kyle Navarro
"We sang songs, prayed and read about the birth of Jesus, he was not born on Christmas. Then we made baby Jesus' and salted them with sparkles. We had a scavenger hunt to find rocks with bible verses and then read the verses. We also ate popcorn and watched a movie about how Jesus was born. It was so much fun, we even had HOT DOGS. My favorite part was the scavenger hunt and reading God's word."
